Tamale Cooking Instructions

Microwave

Dampen paper towel with water

Keeping the corn husk on, roll tamale in the damp paper towel

Place tamale in microwave for 1.5 to 3 minutes

Once cooked, allow tamale to cool for 1 minute

Carefully remove both paper towel and corn husk *Caution, may be hot

Steaming Basket

Use a pot and steaming basket

Fill the pot with water to the bottom of the steaming basket

Bring water to a boil over medium heat

Place 1-4 tamales into the basket with the open side facing up and cover *Cooking more than 4 tamales at a time will require a longer cook time

Steam for 10-12 minutes

Remove from pot, allow to cool and carefully remove corn husks *Caution, Tamales will be hot
